Rasam Podi
As I mentioned earlier, some podi can be added as an extra / main ingredient, to enhance the taste of the dish. One among this category is Rasam Podi/Powder. Rasam podi is a powder made from cumin seeds, pepper, toor dal, dried red chillies, and asafoetida. I always prefer homemade podi for my cooking. The procedure and proportion of the spices and lentils differ from each household.Rasam is a soup kind of dish made with tamarind juice. The powder added to this soup differs from each household. There are varieties of rasam made in south Indian cuisine. I love rasam. My meal is not complete without rasam.
